HUMO – Mayfair

Welcome to HUMO – Mayfair’s high end open fire restaurant which is the debut restaurant by Colombian-born chef Miller Prada, the protégé of celebrated chef Endo Kazutoshi.

chefs at HUMO will cook exclusively with wood fire, without any electricity or gas. A key feature within HUMO is the 9m long bar which was sourced from the same farm, head chef Miller Prada sources his timber for cooking.

A fallen oak tree was collected, machined and then handmade with bespoke carved edges from Bluecrow Joinery, and sits as the centre piece within Mayfair’s newest high-end restaurant, echoing the level of detail throughout the sublime project from designers Afroditi.

Quote from Miller Prada, Group Executive Chef

” When I started thinking about HUMO two years ago, I had many ideas. I wanted create a very special place and this is a dream come true for me, I wanted to make sure that every detail had a story to tell and we had as much attention to all details as possible. Seeing the dream come to life and exceed the expectations in my mind has been an great experience. Working together we have achieved an amazing place where we can give our guests memories of a great meal.”

Black Venetian plastered ceilings encapsulate the restaurant allowing the fully addressable lighting system to bring the warm timber to life. A new bespoke Italian timber floor has been laid with a unique pattern, adding another dimension to the fit-out.

A spiral staircase leads admiring individuals to a bespoke corridor, encapsulated in floor to ceiling wine fridges, integrated into dark joinery and antique mirrored ceilings, leading to the private dining area.

Within HUMO there is a private dining room, with the ceiling having a three tier timber lighting trough seductively illuminating the ten cover bespoke chef’s table, which in turn is clad in Dekton stone.
This runs continuous to the back bar and on the walls, then met by grey tinted toughened glass.

opposite the private dinning room, you have the bespoke restroom. This exquisite room includes bespoke joinery cabinetry, Italian custom wallpaper with a Salmon clay plaster surround, and a stunning bespoke Dark Emperador Spanish Marble sink.
