Milk Beach
This time, Bluecrow teamed up with two design companies on what has now become, an exceptional project. The internal space design came from award winning A-nrd, and the technical / architectural design coming from the team at CO:DE STUDIOS.
A bespoke main bar & back bar with its character Oak top and deep bull nosed front edge sits neatly front & centre. Clever use of LED lighting illuminates the Venetian plaster finish to the bar front, as well as the up lit shelving behind the bar, cleverly illuminating the bottles and the decorative Italian wall tiles. Installation of a bespoke character Oak feature ceiling completes the theme over the bar area.
The fabric choice of colours used are be-fitting of the whole theme in the restaurant, fixed to some cross braced Oak bases or wrapped with character Oak panelling, everything flows & blends well with everything.
The character Oak tabletop, with its radiused contrasting Sapele edge really complement one another and cleverly bring similar elements used on the bespoke waiter stations. Nothing looks out of place.
Following installation of an acoustic resilient layer system with a sand & cement floor screed over, and a random size of Palladiana marble pieces, randomly laid white, greys & pink, then grout filled with a cement base insitu Terrazzo with a 1-3 & 3-6mm granular aggregate.
Perimeter walls received an acoustic lining as well as the ceiling. To enhance the dining experience, and due the ceiling height, a 25mm acoustic spray plaster was used to the whole ceiling, which then received installation of bespoke faux character Oak ceiling beams given a distressed edge to give them a rustic looking feel, all created by hand.
The use of Travertine has been cleverly placed around the restaurant, whereby a couple of large dining tabletops are nestled on bespoke Oak table supports, and a single piece installed to the kitchen pass character Oak deep bull nosed front edge to mimic the main bar.
The sound system installed is the right level of quiet when you need it, but loud enough when required. It is clear & concise and delivers the right levels all round. Sub-woofers strategically placed in some of the waiter stations, low sounds seeping through the hand made Oak speaker grille, means there is an even distribution.
