Retro Ramen – Panton Street

Panton Yokocho – The latest in Ramen cuisine from northern Hokkaido in the south of Japan, is here..

Yokocho, Japanese for an alleyway, are famous in the packed streets of Japan for their delicious restaurants, and this is no different. An unforgettable experience in the 1970s Tokyo alley inspired ramen bar with multiple lanterns, street decor, stairs to nowhere and delicious bowls of authentic ramen and other street dishes.

A complete bespoke fit-out ranging from old used telegraph polls, used ladders with hanging rice bowls, reeded screens and tables made from bottle crates to give that authentic theme. Bespoke windows were designed and made at our joinery workshop to look like the windows open in the streets. With wooden roof slates over the kitchen serving areas, corrugated steel roofs and wall cladding and huge selection of paper lanterns and antique steel signs, this restaurant really does make you feel like you are in Japan.

A key feature within the fit-out is the abundance of Shou Sugi ban – and ancient Japanese carbonised wood finish, created by burning the surface of wood to preserve it.

Go visit the new Panton Yokocho, the loud, noisy & fun Yokocho alley awaits you full of mouth-watering tastes & smells. It can be found only 1 min walk from Leicester Square and right next door to Japan Centre, another from the team at Bluecrow Projects.
