Bluecrow Projects’ status as a Westfield preferred contractor led to a tentative approach from the MD of Raft looking for a contractor to fit-out a retail unit in the new Westfield London development.  After months of design and planning work with the Raft Team and Cantor Masters, works commenced on this 280Sqm site to turn it from an empty shell into the company flagship store.

The simplistic design with feature timber panelling and the Raft Teak Wall serves to enhance the look of the stock which is manufactured in Indonesia from 100% reclaimed teak.

The build was not without its issues, not least of which was the complete ceiling and shopfront redesign mid project due to the shopping centre smoke extract system which removes air at a rate of 12 cubic metres per second.  Cue multiple additional ceiling grilles and perforated shutters to allow free movement of these high volumes of air while retaining the elegance of the overall design.

The store now sits centrally in Westfields’ furniture section, across from the fabled Ichiba, also by Bluecrow Projects.
