Story Cellar – Neal’s Yard

On entering you are welcomed by the huge bespoke main bar joinery with what was a challenging 200mm high stainless steel bullnose detail, this had to be formed with an external return which required hours of off site skilled workmanship to complete.

The main bar top was made from Arabescato T-honed marble which was shipped from Italy, with a feature light strip fitted on the back edge, and a metal peanut rail fitted into the marble where the main bar drinks area is situated.

The window bar top was married in design to the main bar to include the stainless steel nosing and Arabescato marble top feature.

The wall covering used was Tadelakt, a natural lime-based plaster indigenous to the Marrakech region of Morocco, in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. This material was used in an Old Ocre colour, for decorative covering above panelling to the staircase, reception and rest room lobby.

Austen Malbec leather Banquette seating with stained European oak timbers compliment the restaurants Farrow & Ball paint finish internally as well as externally.

Within Story Cellar, there is a private dinning area, once you walk down the wonderful natural solid oak treads and inserts, you are greeted by the Porcelain floor tiles, Domus wall tiles, classic polished brass picture wall lights and a bespoke joinery wine storage, servery and reception all made with more wonderful European oak.

Additional features and materials with Story Cellar were a plasterboard bulkhead feature, this followed the main bar footprint and was fitted with sprayed timber sections to replicate the bar frontage below. A bespoke metal Crittall, full height glazed screen with two opening doors, divides the private dining area and wine stores. Not forgetting the Kast Concrete Sinks which were installed to the restrooms in various colours. These were bespoke made as were the kast Concrete upstands.
