City Arts – Design Led Cocktail Bar

A design-lead cocktail bar in the city of London offering late night refreshment, live music & private dining in a relaxed and discreet atmosphere. Following careful minor strip out & demolition works to the basement & ground floor, we set about removing an existing window and external wall to the ground floor.

The basement works comprises of an eye catching hand-crafted bespoke Sapele main bar & back bar. The strategically placed bar lamps at either end are like guiding lights, show piecing the Nero Mequina marble curved countertop. Having an illuminated hand-crafted bespoke Sapele back bar with an illuminated Sapele bleacher bottle stand, perched on top of Nero Mequina marble countertop.

Some wonderful words from City Arts Bar, London

“Working with Bluecrow has been a breath of fresh air. The way in which they approach projects is a rarity in this industry and one which demonstrates real experience and professionalism. No one project is the same but we would have no hesitation with working with Bluecrow and their team again. There is a positive ‘can-do’ attitude right throughout their operation including their trusted sub-contractors who so clearly enjoy working with Bluecrow.

There’s no doubt this is only possible with experience, great professional relationships and industry knowledge. It’s clear that this comes from running successful projects over many years and that’s the reason we’ll be working with them in the future. Particularly thanks to their sister companies Bluecrow Joinery and Bluecrow Metalwork who have provided exceptional custom work. Not forgetting their PM and Site Manager who helped deliver a beautiful project.”

That overlooks the external terrace seating area, which has a mains gas supplied fire pit.

Whilst retaining the existing structural opening, installed a bespoke Sapele bi-fold door system (hand crafted by Bluecrow Joinery) and bespoke Juliet balcony (hand crafted by Bluecrow Metalworks)

The powder room – There is a Nero Mequina marble countertop to 3 sides, with 3 individually lit mirrors for independent use. Privacy is considered by a pair of self-lined eyelet curtains, finished to the top of the marble countertop, suspended on a heavy-duty brass curtain pole.

The original floor was sympathetically retained, protected throughout the duration of works, receiving a professional sanding process with a durable yet hard wearing matt clear lacquer to retain its character, and with a brief from the client, they wanted Italian Marble “crazy paving” around the front of the main bar with a 3mm brass strip perfectly framing the stone and the timber floor to give it that detailed finish appearance.

The stone was carefully selected from one of our Marble suppliers, transported to site and broken into pieces & laid as traditional “crazy paving” pattern. There is mini grand piano sat just in front of the Sapele stable door which leads to the under stairs coats storage area. The AV system is a sophisticated one throughout too, whereby the piano can be piped through to all areas or controlled.

As you proceed through the main bar area there is 3 metres of full height, one piece bronze mirrors to one side as you head toward 2 private function rooms, private dining, and a private bar.

The private bar is a mini me detail of the main bar, without the countertop lamps though. Colour co-ordinated leather upholstered fixed seating & co-ordinated items of loose furniture.

Whereby the private dining has its own plush theme, different to private bar, it has food preparation kitchen, fitted out to cater for your needs. What is more, there is shagpile carpet under foot to the private bar & private dining to give it that themed vibe.
